Entering the playoffs ranked 9th in DigitalSports National Football Rankings and 3rd in Texas, Katy High School maintained their excellent level of play in their post-season opener.  The Tigers faced Madison on November 15, defeating the Marlins in a 70-0 shutout.

Katy wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard, putting up 35 points in the first quarter.  The Tigers added on 14 more before the end of the first half and another 21 in the second half.

Throughout the game, Katy displayed incredible depth in its running back core.  Six different backs found the endzone.  Sophomore Kyle Porter led the way with six carries for 66 yards and two touchdowns.  Junior BJ Brooks added two scores of his own in his five carries for 40 yards.

Garrett Doiron controlled Katy’s passing game.  The sophomore completed six of seven passes for 98 yards.  Doiron connected with Rodney Anderson for a 22-yard touchdown.  Anderson also carried the ball six times for 66 yards and a rushing score.

From the opening kickoff, Katy played flawless football on both sides of the ball.  Advancing to the area finals, the Tigers look to extend their playoff campaign on November 22 against Cy-Woods.
