In just four games thus far, the Texas high school, Katy, has already acquired its second shutout. Not only has Katy gone undefeated, the Tigers have score 169 point and only allowed 17, collectively outscoring their opponents by 152 points in only four games. So far, Katy has worked hard to earn the 6th rank in the DigitalSports National Football Rankings.
Most recently, Katy faced off against Mayde Creek High School. The game quickly shifted in Katy’s direction, putting up 42 points in the first half and holding the Spartans from scoring at all. Due to a weather delay, the referees called the game; however Katy had already established its dominance.
In the first half, senior quarterback Kiley Huddleston already completed 4 of 8 attempts for 76 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, junior running back Rodney Anderson ran 12 times for 158 yards and two touchdowns.
The most versatile player in Katy’s offense, sophomore Kyle Porter, had a breakout performance as well. Porter acquired three touchdowns in the game, two rushing and one receiving, and 129 total yards.
Now Katy prepares for their next opponents, Morton Ranch. With home-field advantage and momentum of three straight victories, the Mavericks look to give Katy a good game on Thursday, September 26. Opening kickoff is at 7:00p.
